Smart storage. The key to a clutter free living room is smart storage. Incorporate as much storage space into your design as possible. Clutter happens when there is not enough space to hold all our belongings. So planning for sufficient storage is important in a minimalist living room.
Modern living room furniture would be absolutely incomplete without a pretty centre table. Do not opt for a huge and heavy wooden table; instead go for a small glass table, big enough to carry trays of food and drinks. Wooden coffee tables also make for great options but make sure you team them up with nice table runners as you don't want the food or snacks to damage your table. A Christmas table runner can add the much needed pop of colour. You can place a lovely vase in the centre of the table to give it a more sophisticated look.
The minimalist look is deceptive and tricky - it may seem like it is a simple thing to do because it requires less pieces and more clean lines. But pulling it off is actually tricky because your goal is not to make the living room look bare - this is not really what being minimalist is about. The best thing to do to pull off the minimalist look is to get a few statement furniture pieces and arrange them in your living room. Keep your colors solid - never go for patterns. Choose shades that are neutral and basic. Also, your wall colors should be in the ranges of whites, beiges, or solid blacks and grays.
